Community pharmacists' roles in providing contraceptive services: views and experiences of adolescents in urban Khon Kaen, Northeast Thailand.

Objectives: Adolescent pregnancy is a national public health priority in Thailand. While contraceptive methods are available to prevent adolescent pregnancy, Thai adolescent contraceptive usage is low. Community pharmacists are likely the first health professionals to contact adolescents engaged in unprotected sex and needing emergency contraception.

Factors Affecting Adverse Health Effects of Gasoline Station Workers.

This cross-sectional study examined the risk factors affecting adverse health effects from benzene exposure among gasoline station workers in Khon Kean province, Thailand. An interview questionnaire of adverse symptoms relating to benzene toxicity was administered to 151 workers. Area samplings for benzene concentration and spot urine for tt-muconic acid (tt-MA), a biomarker of benzene exposure, were collected.

Developing HIV prevention online using a habermasian 'lifeworld' approach with young men who have sex with men from Bali.

The Internet is a promising medium to strengthen participation in Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) prevention among young men who have sex with men (YMSM). This study engaged YMSM from Bali in codesigning online HIV prevention using a series of participatory action research focus groups. Further, this research utilized Habermasian critical theory of communicative action to interpret the findings.

Perceptions of and barriers to HIV testing of women in Indonesia.

Indonesia's 2014 health reforms advocated for universal health coverage for all Indonesians. The reforms made provision for integrated human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) programmes, with testing available at community health centres and hospitals for pregnant women and women of childbearing age. The question remains, though, as to whether testing has been effective.
