Triphenyl phosphate (TPP) and polystyrene nanoplastics (PSNPs) are prevalent freshwater contaminants obtained mainly from food packaging, textiles and electronics. Algal extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), a part of natural organic matter, may influence these pollutants' behaviour and toxicity. The presence of EPS can enhance the aggregation of TPP-PSNP mixtures, and reduce the bioavailability, and thus the toxicity potential.

Purpose: Diabetes mellitus (DM) and epilepsy and the psychological and socio-economic implications that are associated with their treatments can be quite perplexing. Metformin is an antihyperglycemic medication that is used to treat type 2 DM. In addition, metformin elicits protective actions against multiple diseases, including neurodegeneration and epilepsy.

The ever-changing pattern of infections and inappropriate use of antibiotics has predisposed to the development of drug-resistant strains and has made the management of SSIs arduous.

The potential of green hydrogen to make India self-sufficient and energy-independent is reviewed in this study. We integrated technological advancements, economic analysis, and policy frameworks to provide a comprehensive overview of the green hydrogen landscape in India. This review examines cost reductions in electrolyzer technology, the potential for renewable energy integration, and the socio-economic benefits of green hydrogen adoption.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a long-term medical illness in which the body either becomes resistant to insulin or fails to produce it sufficiently. Mostly, combinatorial therapy is required to control blood glucose levels. However, combinatorial therapy has detrimental side effects.

It is used for detecting biological molecules, imaging, and as therapeutic agents. Due to nano-size (1-100 nm) and high surface-to-volume ratio, nanomaterials possess highly specific and distinct characteristics in the biological environment.

The gene CYP play an important role in pathophysiology of hyperandrogenism associated with PCOS. An elevated androgens are reported in PCOS condition due to overexpression of the enzyme CYP 17 α: .
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAims/hypothesis: South Asians in general, and Asian Indians in particular, have higher risk of type 2 diabetes compared with white Europeans, and a younger age of onset. The reasons for the younger age of onset in relation to obesity, beta cell function and insulin sensitivity are under-explored.
Methods: Two cohorts of Asian Indians, the ICMR-INDIAB cohort (Indian Council of Medical Research-India Diabetes Study) and the DMDSC cohort (Dr Mohan's Diabetes Specialties Centre), and one of white Europeans, the ESDC (East Scotland Diabetes Cohort), were used.
Prediction models for population-based screening need, for global usage, to be resource-driven, involving predictors that are affordably resourced. Here, we report the development and validation of three resource-driven risk models to identify people with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) at risk of stage 3 CKD defined by a decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) to below 60Â mL/min/1.73m.

The Birth Defects Registry of India-Chennai (BDRI-C) was created in 2001 to monitor birth defects and provide timely referrals. Using established guidelines to evaluate surveillance systems, we examined the following attributes of BDRI-C to help strengthen the registry: simplicity, flexibility, data quality, representativeness, acceptability, timeliness, and stability. We reviewed BDRI-C documents, including reporting forms; interviewed key informants; and calculated data completeness, coverage, and reporting time.

In the past, many drugs like thalidomide and sildenafil were successfully repositioned but the process was entirely serendipitous. These days drug repositioning is widely accepted as an alternate method of drug discovery and the process is based on building a strong hypothesis guided by systematic computational and experimental methods.

Materials And Methods: Ten patients were divided into two equal groups in a split-mouth design - Group I: SRP alone, Group II: SRP + laser curettage. The following clinical parameters were recorded: (i) Gingival index (ii) plaque index (iii) sulcular bleeding index (iv) probing depth (PD) and (v) clinical attachment level (CAL).
Aim And Background: A disintegrin and metalloproteinase 8 (ADAM8) is a marker belonging to the class of ADAM family of metalloproteinase which is found to be involved in inflammation and bone resorption in periodontal disease by acting as osteoclast stimulating factor. In several systemic inflammatory diseases, elevated levels of ADAM8 are detected in human serum and other body fluids. Recently, ADAM8 was even detected in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients with periodontal diseases.

Despite an increase in incidence, they remain rare and several key characteristics remain poorly understood, including the range of presentation and the risk of malignant conversion. Large, symptomatic cysts and small asymptomatic, atypical cysts should be resected.

Inclusion complex formation of two local anesthetics drugs (lidocaine (LC) and prilocaine (PC)) with α- and β-cyclodextrins (CDs) in aqueous solution were studied by absorption, fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence and molecular modeling methods. The formation of inclusion complexes was confirmed by 1H NMR, FTIR, differential scanning calorimetry, SEM, TEM and X-ray diffractometry. Both drugs formed 1:1 inclusion complex and exhibit biexponential decay in water whereas triexponential decay in the CD solution.
