Persistence of symptoms beyond the initial 3 to 4 weeks after infection is defined as post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS). A wide range of neuropsychiatric symptoms like anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep disorders and cognitive disturbances have been observed in PACS. The review was conducted based on PRISMA-S guidelines for literature search strategy for systematic reviews.

This comparative interventional study was conducted among CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Materials And Methods: This study included chronic periodontitis (CP) patients divided into three groups Group I: CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis for less than a year; Group II: CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis for more than a year; and Group III: systemically healthy CP patients.
Background: The peri-hilar branching pattern of renal arteries and variations such as accessory renal artery and early branching of the renal artery are important factors to be evaluated preoperatively to minimise potential complications during renal transplantation and renal surgeries. The present study was done to assess the peri hilar branching pattern of the renal artery and its variation among the renal donors in India.
Materials And Methods: One hundred ninety eight kidneys from 99 donors were analysed using pre-operative computed tomography renal angiograms prospectively, over 1 year 2 months.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is found to affect the mental health of the population. Undergraduate medical students are especially prone to mental health disorders and hence could be more vulnerable to the impact of the pandemic.
Methods: A prospective longitudinal study was conducted on 217 undergraduate medical students in a medical college at Chennai, India.
Aim: The aim of this article was to determine the effect of nonsurgical periodontal therapy on clinical parameters and also to evaluate serum level of interleukin (IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in chronic periodontitis patients with and without hypothyroidism.
Materials And Methods: Subjects were 40 female patients (20 systemically healthy subjects with chronic periodontitis and 20 subjects with hypothyroidism and chronic periodontitis). Clinical parameters like plaque score, gingival score, gingival recession, probing pocket depth, and clinical attachment level were recorded at baseline and 4 weeks after nonsurgical periodontal therapy.
Background & Objectives: Tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) is implicated in the pathogenesis of acute bacterial meningitis (ABM). However, we do not know if the nutritional status influences the concentration of TNF alpha in the CSF in children with ABM. The present study evaluates the association between malnutrition and TNF alpha detectability in CSF and the outcome from ABM in children.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFree radicals are highly reactive species that have been implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases. Reactive oxygen species can initiate lipid peroxidation and DNA damage leading to mutagenesis, carcinogenesis and cell death, if the antioxidant system is impaired. This study was undertaken to examine the prevalence of oxidative stress and the role of antioxidant defence in untreated leukemia patients.
