This Letter presents the observation and measurement of electroweak production of a same-sign W boson pair in association with two jets using 36.1  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13  TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis is performed in the detector fiducial phase-space region, defined by the presence of two same-sign leptons, electron or muon, and at least two jets with a large invariant mass and rapidity difference.

Lindane, the γ-hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomer, was among the most used pesticides worldwide. Although it was banned in 2009, residues of Lindane and other HCH-isomers are still found with high concentrations in contaminated fields. For clean-up, phytoremediation combined with anaerobic digestion (AD) of contaminated biomass to produce biogas and fertilizer could be a promising strategy and was tested in two 15 L laboratory-scale continuous stirred tank reactors.

Background: This work aimed to compare raw fresh meat (minced bovine and pork in pieces) preserved by hyperbaric storage (HS) at room-like temperature (75 MPa/25 °C) and HS at cold temperatures (60 MPa/10 °C) for up to 60 days, being both compared to refrigeration (RF, 4 °C).

Results: HS conditions showed microbial load reductions over 60 days of storage, leading to a possible shelf-life extension when compared to samples at RF. Moreover, between both HS conditions similar results were found at the 60 day, reaching in some cases values < 1.

Phenotypes observed in a large cohort of patients with cone and cone-rod dystrophies (COD/CORDs) are described based on multimodal retinal imaging features in order to help in analyzing massive next-generation sequencing data. Structural abnormalities of 58 subjects with molecular diagnosis of COD/CORDs were analyzed through specific retinal imaging including spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and fundus autofluorescence (BAF/IRAF). Findings were analyzed with the underlying genetic defects.
