Article Synopsis
  • QT dispersion, measured from ECGs, assesses cardiac repolarization but may not predict adverse outcomes in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients.
  • A study of 412 AIS patients found no significant correlation between QT dispersion and short-term clinical outcomes or stroke location in the insular cortex.
  • The results indicate that QT dispersion is not a reliable predictor for discharge outcomes or the specific area of the brain affected in AIS.
