Aim: The aim of the study was to examine sensory and motor essential abilities required by nursing boards and assess their inclusion in prelicensure nursing program admissions.

Background: The nursing workforce should mirror diverse patient populations for better concordance; however, essential abilities restrictions hinder admissions for students with disabilities.

Method: Requirements for licensure were collected from state boards of nursing and compared with essential abilities admissions requirements from 58 prelicensure programs.

Large language models (LLMs) can support nursing education but pose questions of validity, reliability, and ethical use. This article proposes using the five rights of nursing delegation framework by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to teach nursing students about the appropriate use of LLMs in health care and nursing education. Nursing faculty can teach students how to assess the validity and reliability of the information provided by LLMs, document its use, and reference and cite information appropriately.

Uncertainty is often presented in the literature as a barrier to chronic kidney disease (CKD) management and end stage renal disease (ESRD) planning by individuals, but the definition of uncertainty has not been clarified for individuals with CKD. After reviewing the literature, a conceptual definition for uncertainty in individuals with CKD was developed.
