Article Synopsis
  • The study examines immune responses in cattle breeds (Brahman, Bonsmara, and Holstein-Friesian) against tick infestations by analyzing lymph nodes and skin samples.
  • It finds that tick-resistant breeds exhibit different immune cell dynamics compared to susceptible breeds, particularly with variations in B-lymphocytes and T-lymphocytes during tick exposure.
  • The results indicate that the ability to resist ticks is linked to specific immune cell behaviors, suggesting potential pathways for improving tick resistance in cattle through immune regulation.
