This study examined human-animal symbiosis in an animal-assisted intervention through observations of animal maintenance behaviors. The rise of psychotherapy, learning, and recreation incorporating animals warrants exploration of the welfare of the animals involved in these interventions. The analysis of welfare in multispecies engagements can be discussed in terms of symbiosis.

The feasibility of measuring fidelity of implementation in parent-child interaction therapy: A clinician and parent fidelity study.

Purpose: Measuring fidelity of implementation in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) involves assessing the training delivered by clinicians and how parents implement the techniques with their children. The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility of measuring fidelity of implementation for a PCIT intervention designed for young children with Down syndrome.

Method: We applied a framework to measure dosage, adherence, quality, and participant responsiveness using a mixed methods approach with observational and interview data.

A novel, stereochemically dense cinchona alkaloid-based catalyst can facilitate the highly enantiodiscriminatory (S up to 101) ring-opening of oxazinones equipped with electrophilic aryl units to generate orthogonally protected β-amino acids for the first time.

Relational conflict and outcomes from an online divorce education program.

The impact of conflict on co-parenting outcomes of divorce education programs is not widely explored in the literature despite the prevalence of conflict in divorce. This study used outcome data from a sample of participants (N=272) who took the online Parents Forever™ course between 2012 and 2014. Participants were asked questions about positive and negative co-parenting behaviors as well their levels of conflict before and after the divorce or separation.

Background: Accurate quantification in molecular imaging is essential to improve the assessment of novel drugs and compare the radiobiological effects of therapeutic agents prior to in-human studies. Attenuation, scatter and partial volume effects were studied using phantom experiments, and an activity calibration curve was obtained for varying sphere sizes.
