The prevalence of diabetes mellitus among children, youth, and young adults is increasing, yet limited information is known about the characteristics and management of these groups with Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 (T2D) diabetes in primary care. The aim of the study is to explore the characteristics of people with T1D and T2D aged < 25 years across the Auckland and Waikato regions of New Zealand. : Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected from electronic primary care records (February 2021-July 2022) of four primary healthcare organisations, with medication data sourced from the National Pharmaceutical dataset.

Background: T2D is a significant health concern in NZ, particularly among Māori and Pacific adults. Characterised by prolonged hyperglycaemia, T2D is generally a progressive condition requiring long-term care.
Background: The Health Sector Transformation Program (HSTP) has been established as part of Saudi Vision 2030. Despite the significant progress achieved in previous years, the HSTP addresses multiple challenges. One of these challenges is that the current healthcare model prioritizes treatment over prevention.

Due to its complex nature, the diagnostic and prognostic signatures of HNSC remain poorly understood. This study was launched to identify signature genes and their signaling pathways related to the development of HNSC.

We assessed whether adherence to the New Zealand Ministry of Health dietary recommendations is associated with maternal and infant health in women with GDM. Data from 313 women with GDM were used.

We aimed to identify the proportion of women with GDM who adhere to the New Zealand nutrition guideline recommendations and assess the sociodemographic factors linked to dietary adherence.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare dietary recommendations made in clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for the management of GDM, evaluate their evidence base, identify research gaps, and assess CPG quality. The PRISMA guidelines were used.

Acinar cell carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy of the pancreas with unique clinical, molecular, and morphologic characteristics. Clinically, these cancers can present with hypersecretory syndrome caused by the release of lipase into the circulation. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice for patients with organ-confined disease; however, with recent advances in precision medicine, therapies targeting the distinct molecular profile of ACC are on the horizon.

We evaluated the impact of this in 21 to 29-year-old women at a tertiary care academic medical center in 2011 and 2017.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed Papanicolaou test results at two time points in 21- to 29-year-old women.
Introduction: Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma (LGFMS) is a rare fibroblastic tumor characterized by a prolonged clinical course and malignant biological behavior. Given its deceptively bland cytomorphology, a diagnosis can be quite challenging notably on fine-needle aspiration (FNA). In an attempt to shed light on some of the distinctive cytomorphologic characteristics, this study was conducted to review all cases of LGFMS in our database, correlating available clinical data, immunohistochemical findings, and molecular analysis.

However, HPV-related small cell carcinoma of the oropharynx is a rare and newly described variant that is associated with aggressive clinical behavior and poor outcomes. To date, fewer than 2 dozen reports of this entity exist in the literature, and there is no discussion of cytopathologic features.

Hypertension also referred to as high blood pressure, in which the arteries have persistent high blood pressure. This results in a condition where the heart has to work harder than normal to flow blood through the vessels.

Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in a group of 706 individuals who underwent EACAB between April 1998 and December 2010. Data covering current pharmacological treatment with antiplatelet agents, beta-blockers (BB) (or heart rate lowering calcium channel blockers [CCB] in case of intolerance and/or poor efficacy of beta-blockade), angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (or angiotensin receptor blockers [ARB]) and statins was acquired.
Background: Quality of life (QoL) is an acknowledged parameter that subjectively describes treatment effectiveness and is used also in cardiac surgery. Minimally-invasive totally endoscopic atraumatic coronary artery bypass grafting (EACAB) does not require the use of cardiopulmonary bypass, reduces hospital stay and facilitates early rehabilitation. Therefore, this procedure should significantly improve QoL in patients with coronary artery disease.

Objectives: To determine the demand from people of different socio-economic groups for indoor residual house-spraying (IRHS), insecticide-treated nets (ITNs), larviciding with chemicals (LWC), and space spraying/fogging (SS) and the disease control implications of the result.
Methods: Ratings and levels of willingness-to-pay (WTP) for the vector control tools were determined using a random cross-sectional sample of 720 householdes drawn from two states.
Objectives: To determine levels of socioeconomic inequities in the prevention of malaria, and to examine the implications of the findings for improving the equitable control of malaria in the Sudan.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey using a pre-tested interviewer-administered questionnaire was administered to 720 randomly selected householders from six localities in Gezira and Khartoum States. A socioeconomic status (SES) index, which was developed using principal components analysis, was used to examine socioeconomic inequity in the prevention of malaria.
