Background: The benefits of nurse-led mobile clinics to the communities they serve have been adequately documented in the nursing and health literature. Nurse-led clinics are credited with a variety of positive outcomes from improving access to care to helping build healthier communities. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore if and then how nurse practitioners (NPs) living in federally designated nonmetropolitan areas of North Carolina integrated spiritual care into their practices. Participants identified the frequency in which they utilize spiritual care practices, specific spiritual interventions, and their definitions of spiritual care.

Data Sources: A sample of 101 NPs was chosen through systematic sampling from 507 eligible NPs.
