Background: The evaluation of e-learning systems ensures the provision of quality training. The goal was to identify the perspectives of teachers and students on e-learning in medical education during the COVID-19 pandemic at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS), Iran.
Methods: This study utilized a convergent mixed methods research design with a two-phase approach to collect and analyze data between June and August 2022.
Background: Despite advances in general and targeted immunosuppressive therapies, limiting all mainstay treatment options in refractory systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) cases has necessitated the development of new therapeutic strategies. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have recently emerged with unique properties, including a solid propensity to reduce inflammation, exert immunomodulatory effects, and repair injured tissues.
Methods: An animal model of acquired SLE mice was induced via intraperitoneal immunization with Pristane and affirmed by measuring specific biomarkers.
Background: This study was designed for the evaluation of Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM) as a scaffold for adipose-derived stem cell transferring in the rat model.
Methods: This experimental study was done in the Burn Research Center of Iran University of Medical Sciences and Bonyakhteh Research Center, Tehran, Iran according to the standards of laboratory animals. Overall, 26 healthy Sprague-Dawley rats were used.
Background: Nicorandil leads to the relaxation of fine vascular smooth muscle, and thus causes vasodilatation of major epicardial. Also, it has anti-arrhythmic and cardio-protective effects by improving reperfusion, and ultimately leads to a reduction in microvascular damage caused by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of nicorandil on QT interval dispersion (QTd) in patients with stable angina pectoris during elective angioplasty.
NGAL is a member of the lipocalin protein family that has diverse function but similar structure. The functions of NGAL are not clear, but it appears to be expressed in stress conditions and in tissues undergoing involution. Varied studies have shown increased levels of plasma or urinary NGAL in diverse renal damages.
