During the pandemic of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), statistics showed that the number of affected cases differed from one country to another and also from one city to another. Therefore, in this paper, we provide an enhanced model for predicting COVID-19 samples in different regions of Saudi Arabia (high-altitude and sea-level areas). The model is developed using several stages and was successfully trained and tested using two datasets that were collected from Taif city (high-altitude area) and Jeddah city (sea-level area) in Saudi Arabia.

Article Synopsis
  • The incidence of sebaceous carcinoma (SC) in the outer ear canal is very rare, with only eight documented cases.
  • A case study describes a 70-year-old man with a history of hypertension and a previous spinal tumor who presented with right ear pain and a mass in the ear.
  • After removal and analysis of the mass, it was diagnosed as moderately differentiated SC; the patient did not have a recurrence but later died from unrelated causes, highlighting the need for awareness of SC symptoms in elderly patients with prior radiation exposure.

Introduction And Importance: Anaplastic thyroid cancer is considered one of the most fatal aggressive malignancies with a survival duration estimated in months. When compared to anaplastic thyroid cancer, a well-differentiated thyroid tumor has a better prognosis and a longer survival duration even if it metastasized. Left untreated, the transformation of well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma to aggressive anaplastic malignancy has been considered one of the most devastating complications.

Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is characterized by mucosal inflammation that leads to a variety of symptoms, such as nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and sneezing. This rhinitis is triggered by inhalation of allergens, such as pollen, and this condition has a negative impact on the quality of life. AR was shown to be associated with a number of co-morbidities, including hypothyroidism, asthma, and chronic sinusitis.

Article Synopsis
  • Neurological complications following COVID-19 vaccinations, although rare, were investigated in a study involving 18 patients in Saudi Arabia who experienced such issues after receiving either the Comirnaty or Vaxzevria vaccines.
  • Among the findings, severe cerebral venous thrombosis, ischemic strokes, and cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome were reported, with specific laboratory markers indicating serious conditions in some patients.
  • The conclusion indicates that while rare neurological side effects can occur post-vaccination, the shared inflammatory response between COVID-19 infection and vaccination might explain these occurrences, and further research is needed to understand the mechanisms fully.

Objective: Hyperthyroidism is the excessive synthesis of thyroid hormones. Thyroid uptake scans and ultrasonography provide an accurate diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, especially when thyroid receptor antibody (TRAb) measurement is not readily available. This study explored the prevalence of various hyperthyroidism causes using retrospective scintigraphy results and evaluated their relationship with clinical, biochemical, and sonographic imaging parameters from patients who underwent Tc-pertechnetate thyroid scans between 2016 and 2019 in Taif, Saudi Arabia, where literature is insufficient.
