These promoting factors are also important for angiogenesis and hematopoiesis, which explains the increase in blood cell types in cancerous diseases.

Comparison of semirigid ureteroscopy, flexible ureteroscopy, and shock wave lithotripsy for initial treatment of 11-20 mm proximal ureteral stones.

Objective: We aimed to retrospectively evaluate the effectiveness and safety of flexible ureteroscopy (f-URS), semirigid ureteroscopy (sr-URS), and shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) to treat single 11-20 mm stones in the proximal ureter.

Materials And Methods: Patients treated at our clinic for 11-20 mm single stones in the proximal ureter who underwent f-URS, sr-URS or SWL as initial lithotripsy methods were compared in terms of their clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes.

Results: A comparison among 201 patients who had undergone f-URS, 119 patients who had undergone sr-URS, and 162 patients who had undergone SWL showed no significant baseline differences in patients' demographic and stone characteristics.

Obstructive jaundice and severe pancreatitis due to the foramen of Winslow hernia with multiple anomalies.

Internal hernia through the foramen of Winslow is a very rare condition, especially in children. Here we report a 16-month-old girl who presented with obstructive jaundice and elevation of pancreatic enzymes and was ultimately diagnosed with internal hernia and malrotation by radiologic investigation and open approach surgery. To the best of our knowledge, obstructive jaundice with pancreatitis and other congenital abnormalities in children with the foramen of Winslow hernia have not been reported previously in the literature.

The prediction levels of emergency clinicians about the outcome of the ambulance patients and outpatients.

Aim: The increased number of emergency clinic patients causes the length of stay in the emergency department, low patient satisfaction and dismiss of real emergency patients. In this study, we aimed to determine the prediction levels of emergency clinicians according to working year on the outcome of the ambulance patients and outpatients presented to the emergency department (ED).

However, olfactory function has not been well studied in relation to depression among children and adolescents. A nutrigenetic approach for investigating the relationship between vitamin B12 status and metabolic traits in Indonesian women.

Purpose: Adverse effects of maternal vitamin B12 deficiency have been linked to major clinical outcomes, including increased body mass index and gestational diabetes, however, less is known about vitamin B12 nutrition in non-pregnant women. Hence, the aim of the present study was to explore the relationships between metabolic traits and vitamin B12 status in a cohort of healthy Indonesian women and to investigate whether these relationships were modified by dietary intake using a genetic approach.

Methods: A total of 117 Minangkabau women (aged 25-60 years), from the city of Padang, West Sumatra underwent anthropometric, biochemical, dietary intake analysis and genetic tests.

Measuring the interprofessional collaborative competencies of health-care students using a validated Indonesian version of the CICS29.

The objectives of this study are to validate an Indonesian version of the Chiba Interprofessional Competency Scale (CICS29) and measure the interprofessional competencies of undergraduate health-care students following their completion of an interprofessional education (IPE) course. This study used a cross-sectional design and was preceded by a cross translation of the instrument and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), which confirmed that the Indonesian-version CICS29 has good internal consistency comparable to the original model. The Indonesian version was then administered to 723 health-care students who had completed a community-based IPE course.

Discovery and Characterisation of Dual Inhibitors of Tryptophan 2,3-Dioxygenase (TDO2) and Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) Using Virtual Screening.

Cancers express tryptophan catabolising enzymes indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO2) to produce immunosuppressive tryptophan metabolites that undermine patients' immune systems, leading to poor disease outcomes. Both enzymes are validated targets for cancer immunotherapy but there is a paucity of potent TDO2 and dual IDO1/TDO2 inhibitors. To identify novel dual IDO1/TDO2 scaffolds, 3D shape similarity and pharmacophore in silico screening was conducted using TDO2 as a model for both systems.

Methods: Intrinsic and ThT fluorescence, CD, and Congo red absorption spectroscopic approaches as well as TEM investigation, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics were used to explore the protective effect of vitamin K1 on the structural changes of α-syn induced by SWCNTs.

Exploring Strategies to Improve the Performance of Community Health Volunteers for Tuberculosis Care and Prevention: A Qualitative Study.

Background: Community health volunteers contributed to the total Tuberculosis (TB) case findings; however, the attrition rate of these volunteers was high which reduces their optimal performance. Hence, sustainability of efforts should be explored to retain the community health volunteers in the TB program. Improvement of community health volunteers to perform community-based health education and prevent TB has not been examined consistently around the globe, including Indonesia.

Objective The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and red blood cell distribution width (RDW)/platelet ratio (RPR) values, which are pro-inflammatory markers, with abnormal sperm parameters, and to evaluate their availability as predictive markers. Materials and methods A total of 160 patients, 80 of whom were the control group, formed with match-pair analysis (Group 1), and 80 patients with abnormal sperm analysis, who met the study criteria (Group 2), were included in the study. Complete blood count results were recorded.

In this study, BODIPY compounds (2, 3, 5 and 6) bearing 3,4-bis(3-pyridin-3-ylpropoxy)benzyl, 4-(3-pyridin-3-ylpropoxy)benzyl groups were synthesized for the first time and further functionalized in a Knoevenagel condensation reaction with 3,4-bis(3-pyridin-3-ylpropoxy)benzaldehyde and 4-(3-pyridin-3-ylpropoxy)benzaldehyde. The water soluble derivatives of BODIPY compounds (3a and 6a) were synthesized by treating BODIPY compounds 3 and 6 with excess iodomethane in DMF. The photochemical properties and DNA binding modes of 3a and 6a were determined using ct-DNA by UV-Vis spectrophotometer and viscometer.
