Objectives: To evaluate the results of the bone transport over an intramedullary nail (BTON) technique for the treatment of segmental bone defects.
Design: Retrospective review of case series.
Setting: Level 1 trauma center.
In the original publication of this article [1] there are two garbled codes in the second sentence, the fourth paragraph of the Background section. The correct sentence should be: Tumor growth leads to the increased production of inflammatory cytokines and growth factors (mainly IL-1, IL-3, IL-6, IL-11, IL-23, and TNF-), and this perpetual process ensures immortality. These promoting factors are also important for angiogenesis and hematopoiesis, which explains the increase in blood cell types in cancerous diseases.

Materials And Methods: Patients treated at our clinic for 11-20 mm single stones in the proximal ureter who underwent f-URS, sr-URS or SWL as initial lithotripsy methods were compared in terms of their clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes.
Results: A comparison among 201 patients who had undergone f-URS, 119 patients who had undergone sr-URS, and 162 patients who had undergone SWL showed no significant baseline differences in patients' demographic and stone characteristics.
Internal hernia through the foramen of Winslow is a very rare condition, especially in children. Here we report a 16-month-old girl who presented with obstructive jaundice and elevation of pancreatic enzymes and was ultimately diagnosed with internal hernia and malrotation by radiologic investigation and open approach surgery. To the best of our knowledge, obstructive jaundice with pancreatitis and other congenital abnormalities in children with the foramen of Winslow hernia have not been reported previously in the literature.

In this study, we aimed to determine the prediction levels of emergency clinicians according to working year on the outcome of the ambulance patients and outpatients presented to the emergency department (ED).
Materials & Methods: This prospective study included patients over 18 years old.
Background: Gastric cancer is the 2nd most common cause of cancer-related deaths, and the morbidity rate after surgery is reported to be as high as 46%. The estimation of possible complications, morbidity, and mortality and the ability to specify patients at high risk have become substantial for an intimate follow-up and for proper management in the intensive care unit. This study aimed to determine the prognostic value of the preoperative platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and their relations with clinical outcomes and complications after gastrectomy for gastric cancer.

However, olfactory function has not been well studied in relation to depression among children and adolescents. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of depression on olfactory function of adolescents.

Objective: To develop an analytical method that allows identification of drug-like natural products that can be further developed as tyrosinase inhibitors.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the wall adaptation and apical microleakage values following the application of various irrigation protocols in primary teeth. For the two parts of the study, extracted upper incisor primary teeth were randomly included to the 1% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), 10% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)+1% NaOCl, 6% citric acid (CA)+1% NaOCl and 0.9% physiological saline (PS) groups.

Hence, the aim of the present study was to explore the relationships between metabolic traits and vitamin B12 status in a cohort of healthy Indonesian women and to investigate whether these relationships were modified by dietary intake using a genetic approach.
Methods: A total of 117 Minangkabau women (aged 25-60 years), from the city of Padang, West Sumatra underwent anthropometric, biochemical, dietary intake analysis and genetic tests.
The objectives of this study are to validate an Indonesian version of the Chiba Interprofessional Competency Scale (CICS29) and measure the interprofessional competencies of undergraduate health-care students following their completion of an interprofessional education (IPE) course. This study used a cross-sectional design and was preceded by a cross translation of the instrument and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), which confirmed that the Indonesian-version CICS29 has good internal consistency comparable to the original model. The Indonesian version was then administered to 723 health-care students who had completed a community-based IPE course.

Both enzymes are validated targets for cancer immunotherapy but there is a paucity of potent TDO2 and dual IDO1/TDO2 inhibitors. To identify novel dual IDO1/TDO2 scaffolds, 3D shape similarity and pharmacophore in silico screening was conducted using TDO2 as a model for both systems.

Therefore, the structural changes of α-syn molecules and their associated cytotoxicity in the presence of SWCNTs either alone or co-incubated with vitamin K1 were studied by spectroscopic, bioinformatical, and cellular assays.
Methods: Intrinsic and ThT fluorescence, CD, and Congo red absorption spectroscopic approaches as well as TEM investigation, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics were used to explore the protective effect of vitamin K1 on the structural changes of α-syn induced by SWCNTs.
Background: The pyridazinone nucleus has been incorporated into a wide variety of therapeutically interesting molecules to transform them into better drugs. Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) are known to be serine hydrolase enzymes responsible for the hydrolysis of acetylcholine (ACh). Inhibition of cholinesterases is an effective method to curb Alzheimer's disease.

Background: Community health volunteers contributed to the total Tuberculosis (TB) case findings; however, the attrition rate of these volunteers was high which reduces their optimal performance. Hence, sustainability of efforts should be explored to retain the community health volunteers in the TB program. Improvement of community health volunteers to perform community-based health education and prevent TB has not been examined consistently around the globe, including Indonesia.

Materials and methods A total of 160 patients, 80 of whom were the control group, formed with match-pair analysis (Group 1), and 80 patients with abnormal sperm analysis, who met the study criteria (Group 2), were included in the study. Complete blood count results were recorded.

In the present study, we designed experiments to evaluate the therapeutic value of PI3K inhibition in combination with Arsenic trioxide (ATO) in MCF-7 cells. The results of our study manifested that BKM120 sensitized MCF-7 cells to the lower concentrations of ATO.

The water soluble derivatives of BODIPY compounds (3a and 6a) were synthesized by treating BODIPY compounds 3 and 6 with excess iodomethane in DMF. The photochemical properties and DNA binding modes of 3a and 6a were determined using ct-DNA by UV-Vis spectrophotometer and viscometer.

Flexible ureteroscopy (f-URS) is a minimally invasive procedure to treat kidney stones, but it is not free of complications. The goals of this study were to analyze the efficacy and safety of f-URS in the management of kidney stones in patients aged ≥60 years and compare the outcomes of this surgery with the outcomes of the same surgery in a younger population.
