Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue (FFPET), which is the most widely used pathology archive, usually has low-quality DNA and RNA due to extensive nucleic acid crosslinking. RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (RNA-FISH) has been increasingly utilized in research and clinical settings to diagnose disease pathology. In this study, the effect of RNA degradation over archival time on RNA-FISH signals in FFPET and fresh frozen tissue (FFT) was systematically assessed.

In this study, the aim was to investigate the chemical content and in vitro antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities of petroleum ether (PE), dichloromethane (DCM), ethyl acetate (EA), and n-butanol (n-BuOH) fractions obtained from ethanol extracts of the aerial parts and roots of the endemic Wagenitz. This plant is found in the Aksaray-Eskil region and has not been studied in phytochemical studies before. In this context, the chemical content of the aerial parts and root PE fractions was analyzed by GC-MS analysis in terms of terpenes and steroid substances.

Sensitive electrochemical sensor of levofloxacin using boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode modified with TiCT (MXene) material.

Overuse of levofloxacin (LEV) is often associated with bacterial resistance and serious health problems, underscoring the need for reliable sensing and monitoring of LEV molecules. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate LEV using boron-doped diamond (BDD) and boron-doped diamond modified with MXene (TiCT) (BDD-MXene) electrode. The successful deposition of MXene on the BDD surface was confirmed using scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Objectives: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) cause 74% of global deaths annually, for which poor diet is the leading risk factor. Diet improvement could prevent 20% of global deaths. This paper presents a policy package for socio-cultural factors, strategies, and policies to promote a healthy diet in Iran.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Calcium Hydroxide Combined with Ellagic Acid as Pulp Capping Material: In Vivo Study.

Objectives:  Pulp capping is a pivotal treatment in dentistry aimed at preserving pulp vitality. While calcium hydroxide has long been considered the gold standard in pulp capping materials, its long-term use can induce chronic inflammation, ultimately leading to pulp necrosis and affecting human health. In this context, ellagic acid, a natural compound with potent anti-inflammatory properties, emerged as a promising adjunct to mitigate inflammation associated with calcium hydroxide application, thereby sustaining pulp vitality.

Domestic difficulties faced by women with a severe mental disorder: A qualitative study.

When the family is considered as a system, individuals with a severe mental disorder can be affected by all the processes and conditions in the family. Women with a severe mental disorder are also affected by many factors such as their place in the family and society, gender roles and gender inequality. In the study, the authors aimed to determine domestic difficulties faced by women diagnosed with a severe mental disorder who were followed in a Community Mental Health Center in a province in the west of Türkiye.

Here, we present a protocol for quantifying nascent N-Myc and global protein translation in neuroblastoma cells. This protocol describes the steps for labeling nascent proteins and performing an optimized click chemistry reaction directly on the membrane after blotting, enabling high-sensitivity detection and analysis.

An effective procedure used metal-organic framework for determination of cadmium ions in real tap water and human blood plasma samples.

A newly developed 2H5MA-MOF sensor by covalently linking NH-MIL-53(Al) with 2'-Hydroxy-5'-methylacetophenon, designed for highly sensitive and selective detection of Cd ions using fluorometric methods. Detailed structural and morphological analyses confirmed the sensor's unique properties. It demonstrated an impressive linear detection range from 0 to 2 ppm, with an exceptionally low detection limit of 5.

Quantification of arsenic in real samples using a spectrophotometric cloud point extraction of the formed ion pair with astrazon orange G.

A novel cloud-point extraction (CPE) procedure for the determination of ultra-trace amounts of arsenic species in real samples, purchased from the local market by spectrophotometer was developed. Inorganic arsenic species analysis in water, beverages, and foods has become increasingly important in recent years, as arsenic species are considered carcinogenic and are assessed at significant levels in samples. The technique is established on a selective ternary complex of As(V) with astrazon orange G (AOG) in the presence of tartaric acid and polyethylene glycol tertoctylphenyl ether (Triton X-114) at pH 4.

Mortalin, a member of the Hsp70 family of proteins, is commonly enriched in many types of cancers. It promotes carcinogenesis and metastasis in multiple ways of which the inactivation of the tumor suppressor activity of p53 has been firmly established. The downregulation of mortalin and/or disruption of mortalin-p53 interactions by small molecules has earlier been shown to activate p53 function yielding growth arrest/apoptosis in cancer cells.

Sumbawa cattle: a study of growth hormone (GH) gene variants and their association with biometric traits.

The growth hormone (GH) gene plays a vital role in regulating animal metabolism and body size, making it a potential candidate for influencing livestock performance. This study aimed to investigate the polymorphisms within the GH gene and their associations with 10 biometric traits in the Sumbawa cattle population of Indonesia. Biometric trait data and blood samples were collected from 112 Sumbawa cattle individuals, and their GH gene sequences were analyzed using two sets of primers for amplification.

In this study, the role of ABCG2 in parasiticide monepantel (MNP) and its primary metabolite, monepantel sulfone (MNPSO)'s systemic distribution and excretion in milk, was tested using female and male wild-type and Abcg2 mice.
