Ultrafast in cellulo photoinduced dynamics processes of the paradigm molecular light switch [Ru(bpy)2dppz](2.).

An in cellulo study of the ultrafast excited state processes in the paradigm molecular light switch [Ru(bpy)2dppz](2+) by localized pump-probe spectroscopy is reported for the first time. The localization of [Ru(bpy)2dppz](2+) in HepG2 cells is verified by emission microscopy and the characteristic photoinduced picosecond dynamics of the molecular light switch is observed in cellulo. The observation of the typical phosphorescence stemming from a (3)MLCT state suggests that the [Ru(bpy)2dppz](2+) complex intercalates with the DNA in the nucleus.

Evaluation of digital infra-red thermal imaging as an adjunctive screening method for breast carcinoma: a pilot study.

Background: Early screening plays a pivotal role in management of breast cancer. Given the socio-economic situation in India, there is a strong felt need for a screening tool which reaches the masses rather than waiting for the masses to reach tertiary centers to be screened. Digital infra-red thermal imaging (DITI) or breast thermography as a screening test offers this possibility and needs to be carefully assessed in Indian scenario.

Spontaneous perforation of the bile duct is a rare disease in children and even rarer in adults. Although diagnostic techniques have advanced over the past years, yet most cases are diagnosed at operation. A 44-year-old woman presented with epigastric pain and vomiting of one-day duration.

Large mucinous adenoma of pancreas presenting with recurrent pancreatitis.

Cystic pancreatic tumors are an unfamiliar and rare entity even after the advent of modern abdominal imaging. Mucinous pancreatic tumors presenting with features of pancreatitis is a rare phenomenon moreover it creates a diagnostic dilemma and can lead to mismanagement. We report here such a case of mucinous cyst adenoma presented as recurrent pancreatitis and mimicking as a pancreatic pseudocyst.

Successful removal of an impacted metallic arrowhead penetrating up to the brainstem.

A case of impacted metallic arrowhead in the brain through an unusual route of the neck and behind the external carotid artery to the base of the skull up to the brainstem is reported. Review of the literature reveals no previous reports of this type of injury. A 35-year-old man was admitted to the hospital after 36 h of injury, being fully conscious and with partial facial palsy.
