We present the case of a 64-year-old female with stage IV gastric adenocarcinoma, pulmonary, and abdominal wall metastases, and no history of cardiovascular disease. In palliative care, she received systemic cytotoxic treatment with fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel protocol, which was well tolerated over five cycles. Article Synopsis
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is a serious condition that can occur after cancer treatment, causing rapid tumor cell destruction and serious electrolyte imbalances, particularly in patients with blood cancers, but rarely in those with solid tumors like sarcomas.

  • After receiving antibiotic treatment and some recovery, the patient continued the chemotherapy but ultimately died from respiratory complications eight months after discharge, highlighting the risks and challenges in treating advanced sarcoma.
