The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a surgical technique called the preseptal transconjunctival approach with a Y modification in treating zygomaticomaxillary complex fractures.
Conducted from 2012 to 2020, the research involved 49 patients and evaluated various factors including surgical exposure time, complications, and cosmetic outcomes.
Results showed excellent fracture exposure in 73.5% of cases, minimal visible scarring in the majority of patients, and concluded that the technique offers significant advantages, though it requires specialized skills and experience.
