Objective: The purpose of this study was to retrospectively review the incidence, profile, and the management of palatal fistula occurring in patients operated for cleft palate in our institute.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on all cleft palatal fistula patients who presented during the period from August 2007 to October 2017, to classify their site, age of presentation, surgery performed, and outcome. A record of the type of cleft palate and previous palatoplasty was also obtained.
Aim: As in India especially, the Punjab state sero-prevalence and distribution of ehrlichiosis in relation to clinico-hematobiochemical response remains largely unexplored. Canine distemper (CD), caused by canine distemper virus (CDV) is a highly contagious disease that infects a variety of carnivores. Sequence analysis of CDVs from different geographical areas has shown a lot of variation in the genome of the virus especially in haemagglutinin gene which might be one of the causes of vaccine failure. Materials And Methods: A total of 892 burn patients admitted over a period of 6 years from January 2002 to December 2007 at tertiary care hospital in Punjab, India, were analyzed.
Results: 54% patients were males.
Introduction: Reconstruction of anterior abdominal wall after necrotizing abdominal wall infections is a challenge.
Material And Methods: A 35-year-old lady presented with 20 × 18 cm sized defect of the anterior abdominal wall following fungal necrotizing fascitis. The defect was covered by an overlay prolene mesh and the soft tissue deficit was corrected by pre-expanded epigastric flap based on the superior epigastric artery.
A total of 100 cases of burn were examined and screened bacteriologically for evidence of infection by surface swab culture, quantitative full thickness punch biopsy culture and blood culture. Gram negative organisms predominates the gram positive ones. Surface swab was found to correlate well with the biopsy as far the identification of causative organism is concerned.
