Background And Purpose: The magnetic resonance imaging in multiple sclerosis (MAGNIMS) group recently proposed guidelines to replace the existing dissemination-in-space criteria in McDonald 2010 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) criteria for diagnosing multiple sclerosis. There has been insufficient research regarding their applicability in Asians. Objective of this study was to determine the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of McDonald 2010 and MAGNIMS 2016 MRI criteria with the aim of verifying their applicability in Sri Lankan patients.

Dendritic cells (DC), as initiators and orchestrators of immune responses, control both naive and primed T cell responses. Depending on their maturation stage, DC promote immunity or tolerance. Here we investigated (1) the phenotype and cytokine secretion patterns of IL-10-modulated immature DC (IL-10-DC) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-driven mature DC (LPS-DC) in comparison with unmodulated immature DC (imDC) and (2) the effects of IL-10-DC, and of LPS-DC, vs.

Dendritic cells (DC) are usually regarded as antigen-presenting cells (APC) involved in T cell activation, but DC also directly or indirectly affect B cell function, antibody synthesis and isotype switch. In this study, we explore potential of DC-based immunotherapy in ongoing experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis (EAMG) in Lewis rats, which is mediated by anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibodies. Spleen DC were isolated from onset of Lewis rat EAMG on day 39 post immunization (p.
