Safety and efficacy of indigenously developed Ruthenium-106 eye plaque for brachytherapy of a spectrum of ocular tumors: A case series.

Various treatment modalities are available for treatment of ocular tumors, which include chemotherapy, laser, and radiotherapy (external beam radiation therapy or brachytherapy). Brachytherapy using plaque applicator is preferred over external beam radiation therapy when the tumor is well localized, as this therapy delivers radiation dose to the tumor with lower doses to normal tissues in the vicinity. Efficacy and safety of brolucizumab versus aflibercept in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration: a randomized trial in Indian patients.

Background: The current standard treatment for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) involves intravitreal injections of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents. Half-fluence photodynamic therapy in peripapillary circumscribed choroidal haemangiomas.

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of half-fluence photodynamic therapy (PDT) as treatment for symptomatic peripapillary circumscribed choroidal haemangiomas (CCHs).

Methods: In this prospective, interventional case series; 11 patients with symptomatic peripapillary CCHs presenting to a single centre were treated with half-fluence PDT using verteporfin 6 mg/m2 with fluence of 25 mJ/cm2 (standard is 50 mJ/cm2) and other standard settings. Patients were evaluated at baseline, four weeks, twelve weeks and twenty-four weeks post-PDT treatment with best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), ultrasonography, spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), visual evoked potential and angiographic studies.

Innovative technique of mini-simple limbal epithelial transplantation in pediatric patients.

In this article, we introduce a modified technique of minor ipsilateral simple limbal epithelial transplantation (mini-SLET) in pediatric patients of limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD). Two children with unilateral partial LSCD underwent the innovative technique of mini-SLET, where harvested limbal tissues were placed over the raw cornea and were covered with amniotic membrane. Both patients were followed till 9 months.
