Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to understand if left ventricular (LV) dilation affects outcomes after valve-sparing root reimplantation in patients.
  • It found that while LV dilation did not impact postoperative aortic insufficiency (AI) or the need for reintervention, patients with LV dilation had higher overall mortality rates.
  • The researchers concluded that LV dilation should not prevent the use of valve-sparing procedures when they are deemed necessary, as it does not negatively affect surgical outcomes.
