In this study, microstructure, mechanical, and shape memory properties of the welded Fe-based shape memory alloy (Fe-SMA) plates with a nominal composition of Fe-17Mn-5Si-10Cr-4Ni-(V, C) (wt.%) by gas tungsten arc welding were investigated. The optimal heat input to ensure full penetration of the Fe-SMA plate with a thickness of 2 mm was found to be 0.

This paper presents the experimental results of a study evaluating the mechanical and fatigue performance of welded Fe-Mn-Si SMA. For the experimental study, welded and welded-and-heat-treated Fe-Mn-Si SMA specimens were fabricated, and fatigue tests were performed at various stress amplitudes. In addition, direct tensile tests and recovery stress tests were also performed to evaluate the material properties of Fe-Mn-Si SMAs.

In this study, the shear performance of a reinforced concrete (RC) beam with Fe-based shape memory alloy (Fe-SMA) stirrups was evaluated experimentally and analytically. Five specimens that had a possibility of shear failure under four-point loading were prepared. The major experimental variables were the spacings (300 and 200 mm) between the Fe-SMA stirrups and whether the stirrups were activated or non-activated.

The aim of this study was to demonstrate equivalence between low-dose rabeprazole 10 mg and omeprazole 20 mg for the healing rapidity of active peptic ulcer and for improvement of symptoms. Also, the effect of CYP2C19 genotypes on ulcer healing rapidity was investigated.

Background And Aims: Bacterial gastroenteritis has been known as a risk factor of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Several risk factors of post-infectious IBS (PI-IBS) have been documented. The aims of this study were to verify the role of bacterial gastroenteritis in the development of IBS and the risk factors for the development of PI-IBS.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMosapride citrate (Mosapride) is a new prokinetic agent that enhances the gastrointestinal (GI) motility by stimulation of 5-HT4 receptors. This agent stimulates acetylcholine release from enteric cholinergic neurons in the GI wall. It was reported in several studies that mosapride selectively enhanced the upper, but not lower, GI motor activity.
