Sushi domain-containing protein 2 (SUSD2), a transmembrane protein containing a sushi motif, has been reported to have tumor-promoting functions in various types of cancer, including breast cancer. However, the regulatory mechanism of SUSD2 and its function in HER2-positive (HER2+) breast cancer have not been fully identified as yet. In this study, we explored the potential of targeting SUSD2 to overcome trastuzumab (TRZ) resistance in HER2+ breast cancer.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of spatiotemporally-variable factors such as water temperature and dietary habits on the 2S bacterial community and its migration into digesters. Bacterial communities and functions were analyzed using high-throughput pyrosequencing.

Our study aimed to investigate whether the NLR and PLR measured at different timepoints could predict poor neurological outcomes at 6 months. This observational retrospective cohort study included adults who had experienced out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and received targeted temperature management between November 2015 and December 2020.

Key metrics evaluated included Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) scores, tear breakup time (TBUT), Schirmer I test scores, and meibography scores, pre- and post-treatment.

Unlike previously reported phosphine radical cations that rely on sterically bulky substituents for stabilization, our approach leverages electronic stabilization via "through-space" radical delocalization. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction of [][BArF] reveals a tricapped tetrahedral geometry, resulting from the spatial proximity of the three bromine atoms to the phosphorus center, differentiated from the trigonal planar geometry observed in the previously reported triarylphosphine radical cations with sterically bulky substituents.

This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic ability of the initial sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score alone and combined with serum albumin levels for predicting 28-day mortality in patients with septic shock.

However, the distal fitting of femoral stems, often caused by metaphyseal-diaphyseal mismatch, remains a significant issue, particularly in patients with Dorr type A femora. Such mismatches can result in suboptimal implant performance, leading to potential complications.

Several studies have reported that actin polymerization serves as a Src regulator, and HSP90 is involved in forming polymerized actin bundles. To understand the role of METTL18 in breast cancer and to demonstrate the importance of METTL18 in HER-2 negative breast cancer metastasis, we used biochemical, molecular biological, and immunological approaches (breast tumor cell lines), (tumor xenograft model), and in samples of human breast tumors.

Thromboelastography (TEG) provides a comprehensive assessment of coagulation status and is useful for guiding the treatment of hemorrhagic events in various diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the role of TEG in predicting hypofibrinogenemia in emergency department (ED) patients with primary PPH.

This study introduces a reliable approach for the precise and sensitive quantification of the RBSDV in cereal crop samples, employing a reverse transcription digital polymerase chain reaction (RT-dPCR) assay. We assessed the specificity and sensitivity of the RT-dPCR assay proposed for precise RBSDV detection and quantification.

This study aimed to develop a novel scoring system to be easily applied at the time of emergency department arrival for identifying favorable neurologic outcomes in OHCA survivors with an asystole rhythm.
Methods: This study is a secondary analysis based on a previously collected nationwide database, targeting nontraumatic adult OHCA patients aged ≥18 years with an asystole rhythm who achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) between January 2016 and December 2020.
This study investigated the role of O-GlcNAc cycling in Alzheimer's disease-related changes in brain pathophysiology induced by chronic REM sleep deprivation (CSD) in mice. CSD increased amyloid beta (Aβ) and p-Tau accumulation and impaired learning and memory (L/M) function. CSD decreased dendritic length and spine density.

Accurate assessment of GSH relative to its oxidized counterpart, glutathione disulfide (GSSG), is critical for the early diagnosis and understanding of conditions related to oxidative stress. Despite existing methods for their quantification, the label-free and simultaneous measurement of GSH and GSSG in biological fluid presents significant challenges.

We assessed whether normal levels of normal neuron-specific enolase (NSE) value would be useful for predicting good neurological outcomes in comatose OHCA survivors treated with targeted temperature management (TTM). This registry-based observational study with consecutive adult (≥18 years) OHCA survivors with TTM who underwent NSE measurement 48 hours after cardiac arrest was conducted from October 2015 to November 2022.

However, it still demonstrates unpredictable progression and recurrences influenced by high tumoral diversity and microenvironmental status. To address these heterogeneous molecular characteristics of HR+/HER2-BC, we aimed to simultaneously characterize its transcriptomic landscape and genetic architecture at the same resolution.

This study aimed to elucidate the role of O-GlcNAc cycling in 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced Parkinson's disease (PD)-like neurodegeneration and the underlying mechanisms. We observed dose-dependent downregulation of O-GlcNAcylation, accompanied by an increase in O-GlcNAcase following 6-OHDA treatment in both mouse brain and Neuro2a cells. Interestingly, elevating O-GlcNAcylation through glucosamine (GlcN) injection provided protection against PD pathogenesis induced by 6-OHDA.
