Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) could induce metabolic disorders through interfering with thyroid homeostasis. Therefore, we evaluated the effects of short term to environmental relevant doses of DEHP on thyroid hormones. Four week old Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were treated with vehicle (corn oil), and DEHP 0.

Therefore, we are going to represent the necessity of selection of proper sampling time of spot urine for assessing the environmental DEHP exposure, and the association urinary DEHP metabolites with steroid hormones.

Occupational exposure to petrochemical compounds seems to decrease sperm motility and deteriorate the sperm ultrastructural arrangement, which may lead to this decrease in sperm motility.

Methods: The subjects were 20 approximately 39-year-old women (13 office workers, 11 sales-service workers, and 11 college students) who were eligible for the study and free of acute and chronic medical conditions. Salivary CgA and cortisol levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
As indicators of obesity, waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI), and adiponectin are well-known risk factors for diabetes mellitus. The objectives of this study were to measure the independent association between these obesity indicators and diabetes and to examine the combined effect of these indicators on diabetes in a Korean population. The WC, BMI, and serum adiponectin were measured in 4459 healthy Koreans and were classified into tertile groups for men and women.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of and the effect of smoking on this paradoxical relationship.
Research Methods And Procedures: Our study sample consisted of 3450 men and 4250 women who had participated in the Korean Nationwide Health Examination Survey.
