Elevated metastasis-associated in colon cancer 1 (MACC1) expression in colorectal cancer patients, and high transmembrane 4 L6 family member 5 (TM4SF5) protein expressed on various solid tumors' surface, are linked to aggressive cancer behavior and progression. We aimed to investigate the association of various mental illnesses, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, insomnia, and anxiety, with the risk of early-onset Parkinson's disease (EOPD) (age <50 years) and compare it with that of late-onset PD (LOPD) (age ≥50 years). Parkinson's disease is characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta, and although restoring striatal dopamine levels may improve symptoms, no treatment can cure or reverse the disease itself. Stem cell therapy has a regenerative effect and is being actively studied as a candidate for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
