Background: Sequential occurrences of acute ischaemic stroke in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) and vice versa have been reported, but not the simultaneous occurrence of both conditions. We report a case of simultaneous occurrence of MI and systemic embolism caused by a mechanism not reported to date.

Background: Coronary drug-eluting stents (DES) built with either durable (DP) or biodegradable (BP) polymeric coatings have been largely tested and are extensively available for routine use. However, their comparative performance remains an open question, particularly in more complex subsets of patients.
Aims: We evaluated the outcomes of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) using DP-DES versus BP-DES in a large multicenter real-world registry.
Study Objectives: Four well-established predictors of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) risk are body mass index, age, sex, and neck circumference. We have previously reported cheeks appearance as an OSA predictor, which may represent a combination of such predictors in a single, readily available feature. This study sought to answer the question: Is cheeks appearance an OSA risk predictor?
Methods: This was a prospective cross-sectional diagnostic accuracy study based on STARD (standards for reporting diagnostic accuracy studies).
Background: Several studies have shown that women are usually undertreated and have worse outcomes after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), hence the need to investigate questions related to sex in Brazil to better deal with the problem.
Objective: To determine whether female sex is still associated with adverse events in a contemporary cohort of patients with STEMI undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI).
Methods: This was a prospective cohort study of STEMI patients submitted to pPCI in a tertiary university hospital between March 2011 and December 2021.

To our knowledge, this is the first report of primary percutaneous coronary intervention in a patient with a superdominant left circumflex artery, in which the entire right coronary artery myocardium territory is provided by the left circumflex. Coronary angiographic images of our 80-year-old male patient illustrate this anomaly. Single coronary arteries are among the most rare anatomic coronary anomalies, and the absence of right coronary artery ostium has been described as the rarest of these anomalies.

Antioxidant-rich foods may decrease oxidative stress and have a direct impact on atherosclerosis by reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation.
