The patient being cared for at home should be considered with his entourage. In the case of dialysis, the relative is involved and his relationship with the patient becomes more complex, because the patient is in a situation of increased dependency. Hence, the relative is a fully-fledged partner in home haemodialysis, particularly in the decision-making process.
