Impact of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination on systemic immune responses in people living with HIV.

Despite the development of vaccines, which protect healthy people from severe and life-threatening Covid-19, the immunological responses of people with secondary immunodeficiencies to these vaccines remain incompletely understood. Here, we investigated the humoral and cellular immune responses elicited by mRNA-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in a cohort of people living with HIV (PLWH) receiving anti-retroviral therapy. While antibody responses in PLWH increased progressively after each vaccination, they were significantly reduced compared to the HIV-negative control group.

Laser induced crystallization of Co-Fe-B films.

Local crystallization of ferromagnetic layers is crucial in the successful realization of miniaturized tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) devices. In the case of Co-Fe-B TMR devices, used most successfully so far in applications and devices, Co-Fe-B layers are initially deposited in an amorphous state and annealed post-deposition to induce crystallization in Co-Fe, thereby increasing the device performance. In this work, first direct proof of locally triggered crystallization of 10 nm thick Co-Fe-B films by laser irradiation is provided by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD) using synchrotron radiation.

Multilocus phylogeny- and fruiting feature-assisted delimitation of European from a new Asian species complex and related species.

(synonym: ) is a widely cultivated edible and reportedly almost cosmopolitan mushroom species that serves as a model fungus for basidiome formation and as producer of useful natural products and enzymes. Focusing on strains from different continents, here, we present a phylogenetic analysis of this species and some adjacent taxa that employs four phylogenetic markers. In addition, we tested the strains' capability to fructify on agar media.
