Subclavian Ansae Stimulation on Cardiac Hemodynamics and Electrophysiology in Atrial Fibrillation: A Target for Sympathetic Neuromodulation.

Background: The sympathetic autonomic nervous system plays a major role in arrhythmia development and maintenance. Historical preclinical studies describe preferential increases in cardiac sympathetic tone upon selective stimulation of the subclavian ansae (SA), a nerve cord encircling the subclavian artery.

Objectives: This study sought to define, for the first time, the functional anatomy and physiology of the SA in humans using a percutaneous approach.

Right coronary artery compromise following radiofrequency catheter ablation for supraventricular tachycardia: cases reports.

Background: Coronary compromise is a serious potential complication following catheter ablation; however, procedural details in the literature are often lacking, preventing the identification of learning opportunities.

Case Summary: We report two cases of right coronary compromise following catheter ablation for symptomatic supraventricular tachycardia. After radiofrequency energy delivery at the coronary sinus ostium in both cases, inferior lead ST-elevation was observed.

Subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator lead displacement.

A 52-year-old gentleman with a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (S-ICD) implanted in 2015 for primary prevention and a background of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy presented via remote monitoring alert (Boston Scientific Latitude NXT) with an aborted charge episode. The episode showed myopotential noise with baseline wander, and an urgent outpatient follow-up was arranged. Upon investigation the S-ICD lead had retracted to the pocket of the generator via a reel mechanism, wrapping the lead around the can.
