Poultry products remain as one of the most popular and extensively consumed foods in the world and the introduction of hydrogen sulfide (HS) producing antibiotic resistant bacterial species into it is an emerging challenge. The current study has been designed to analyze the distribution of antibiotic resistance among the HS producing bacteria isolated from the fecal samples of chickens from different poultry farms. Here, twenty bacterial isolates were selected based on their ability to produce HS on XLD agar, and the16S rDNA sequencing was carried out for their molecular identification.

In the present study, two structurally diverse novel glitazones were designed and synthesized for activation of central PGC-1α signaling through stimulation of PPAR-γ receptor. The functional interaction between PGC-1α and PPAR-γ is a key interaction in the normal physiology of neuroprotective mechanism. Therefore, activation of PPAR-γ-dependent PGC-1α co-activator signaling could be an effective strategy to exhibit neuroprotection in several neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and cerebral ischemia.

This prospective study looks into the accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in predicting the depth of MI, cervical invasion, lymph node metastasis, and extrauterine spread (EUS) of disease in endometrial cancer. Between June 2014 and December 2015, 58 patients with biopsy-proven endometrial cancer who underwent MRI prior to surgery were included in the study. MRI findings like myometrial invasion, extrauterine spread, lymph nodal metastasis, and cervical invasion were compared against the histopathology report.

The present study was directed to the production of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine using endochitinase and chitobiase from fungal cultures in solid culturing. Fifteen fungal strains were evaluated for endochitinase and chitobiase production under solid-state fermentation using agro-industrial residues, of which Penicillium aculeatum NRRL 2129 showed maximum endochitinase activity whereas Trichoderma harzianum TUBF 927 showed maximum chitobiase activity. Eleven substrates, alone and in combination with chitin, were evaluated for the enzyme production.

Flavonoids isolated from Solanum melongena (brinjal) showed potent antioxidant activity. Concentrations of malondialdehyde, hydroperoxides and conjugated dienes were lowered significantly. The activity of catalase was found to be significantly enhanced in the tissues of normal and cholesterol fed rats administered 1 mg flavonoid from brinjal/100 g BW/day.
