Unlabelled: Aspects of the Quaternary sedimentary geology of South-East Asia have proven problematic in terms of interpretation as to the origins and relationships of the surface sediment layers. Conventional strategies aimed at mitigating beam-hardening artifacts in computed tomography (CT) can be categorized into two main approaches: (1) postprocessing following conventional reconstruction and (2) iterative reconstruction incorporating a beam-hardening model. While the former fails in low-dose and/or limited-data cases, the latter substantially increases computational cost. Although deep learning-based methods have been proposed for several cases of limited-data CT, few works in the literature have dealt with beam-hardening artifacts, and none have addressed the problems caused by randomly selected projections and a highly limited span.

Understanding and controlling the electrical properties of solution-processed 2D materials is key to further printed electronics progress. Here, we demonstrate that the thermolysis of the aromatic intercalants utilized in nanosheet exfoliation for graphene laminates allows for high intrinsic mobility and the simultaneous control of doping type (- and -) and concentration over a wide range. We establish that the intraflake mobility is high by observing a linear magnetoresistance of such solution-processed graphene laminates and using it to devolve the interflake tunneling and intralayer magnetotransport.

Mohr diagrams are a simple and effective method that can help geoscientists consider, model, and predict the ranges of mechanical properties of rock, stresses, fluid pressures, and the resultant fractures that are likely to occur in the sub-surface. Mohr diagrams can be used to make predictions about how rocks may respond to change, with a transition from a stable state to fracturing occurring if there are changes in (1) the failure envelope, (2) stresses, and/or (3) fluid pressure. This article uses Mohr diagrams to address two questions of significance to the energy transition.

Background: The beam-hardening effect due to the polychromatic nature of the X-ray spectra results in two main artifacts in CT images: cupping in homogeneous areas and dark bands between dense parts in heterogeneous samples. Post-processing methods have been proposed in the literature to compensate for these artifacts, but these methods may introduce additional noise in low-dose acquisitions. Iterative methods are an alternative to compensate noise and beam-hardening artifacts simultaneously.

The temporal bisection procedure has been used to assess theories of time perception. A problem with the procedure for measuring the perceived midpoint of two durations is that the spacing of probe durations affects the length of the bisection point. Linear spacing results in longer bisection points closer to the arithmetic mean of the durations than logarithmic spacing.

Between October 2016 and March 2019, Lynn Community Health Center in Massachusetts implemented a targeted latent TB infection testing and treatment (TTT) program, increasing testing from a baseline of 1,200 patients tested to an average of 3,531 patients tested, or 9% of the population per year. We compared pre-implementation TTT, represented by the first two quarters of implementation data, to TTT, represented by 12 quarters of data. Time, diagnostic, and laboratory resources were estimated using micro-costing.

This paper presents a new coupled urban change and hazard consequence model that considers population growth, a changing built environment, natural hazard mitigation planning, and future acute hazards. The mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase PARP7 has emerged as a key negative regulator of cytosolic NA-sensors of the innate immune system. We apply a rational design strategy for converting a pan-PARP inhibitor into a potent selective PARP7 inhibitor (KMR-206). Consistent with studies using the structurally distinct PARP7 inhibitor RBN-2397, co-treatment of mouse embryonic fibroblasts with KMR-206 and NA-sensor ligands synergistically induced the expression of the type I interferon, IFN-β.

Phytoplasmas are insect-vectored, difficult-to-culture bacterial pathogens that infect a wide variety of crop and non-crop plants, and are associated with diseases that can lead to significant yield losses in agricultural production worldwide. Phytoplasmas are currently grouped in the provisional genus ' Phytoplasma', which includes 49 species. Further differentiation of phytoplasmas into ribosomal groups is based on the restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) pattern of the 16S rRNA-encoding operon, with more than 36 ribosomal groups (16Sr) and over 100 subgroups reported.
