Background: Renal involvement, known as lupus nephritis (LN), is a common and serious complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), linked to significant morbidity and mortality. Histomorphological indices, such as the activity index (AI) and chronicity index (CI), are critical in predicting treatment responses and outcomes. This study aims to compare these histomorphological indices between adult and pediatric patients with LN and evaluate their impact on post-induction therapy outcomes.

Objectives are to study the feasibility of this novel regimen in patients with advanced cancer bladder (Ca Bladder).
Methods: Two patients having advanced Ca Bladder with cisplatin ineligibility and poor performance status were managed with OSAKA regimen.

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), the most common structural cardiac complication, is the single most important cause for sudden cardiac death. There are no published data from India looking at the changes in left ventricular mass and cardiac dysfunction after kidney transplantation. We aimed to determine the changes in the left ventricular mass and other cardiovascular risk factors in kidney transplant recipients.

Anthropometric and biochemical measurements were done by using standardized techniques. Fasting serum visfatin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

The present study evaluates the role of ENPP1 K121Q polymorphism in prediction of type 2 diabetes in three populations that differ in susceptibility to diabetes and environmental exposure. The three cohorts included 679 nonmigrant South Asians living in Chennai, India (223 with type 2 diabetes); 1,083 migrant South Asians living in Dallas, Texas (121 with type 2 diabetes); and 858 nonmigrant Caucasians living in Dallas, Texas (141 with type 2 diabetes).

Research Design And Methods: This is a case-control study of 82 type 2 diabetic and 82 age- and sex-matched nondiabetic subjects from the Chennai Urban Rural Epidemiology Study, an ongoing epidemiological study in southern India. Visceral, subcutaneous, and total abdominal fat were measured using CT, while DEXA was used to measure central abdominal and total body fat.
