Background: Androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) as a treatment modality in advanced prostate cancer has deleterious effect on bone mineral density (BMD) and quality of life (QOL). Using FRAX (Fracture Risk Assessment) model, candidates at high risk of fractures can be predicted and appropriate treatment can be initiated at early step to prevent skeletal-related events. Objectives of the present study were to evaluate bone health, implication of FRAX tool in advanced prostate cancer and to see the impact of ADT and Bone-directed therapy (BDT) on FRAX and FACT-P QOL scores.

The prevalence of end-stage renal disease is increasing in hemophilic patients because of improved life expectancy. Renal transplant surgery in such patients is often complicated by adverse hematological events such as bleeding and intravesical thrombosis, both with a risk of renal allograft rejection.

They are characterized by severe thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolysis, and thrombosis, leading to a systemic inflammatory response and organ failure. Plasmapheresis is used to treat thrombotic microangiopathies.

Primary intrathoracic LPS, however, is quite rare. LPS is a malignant mesenchymal tumor, comprised of lipogenic tissue with varying degrees of atypia.

Histopathology is required to confirm the diagnosis. A rare case is presented of metastatic eccrine porocarcinoma, occurring four years after surgical excision of the primary scalp tumor, and includes a review of the literature.

Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma accounts for only a small percentage of lung cancers and has histological variants that include pleomorphic carcinoma, giant cell carcinoma, spindle cell carcinoma, carcinosarcoma, and pulmonary blastoma. CASE REPORT Here, we present a case of sarcomatoid carcinoma in a 63-year-old HIV-positive Hispanic male who presented with back pain, dry cough, and weight loss.

Patients And Methods: Patients with Stage III unresectable or Stage IV adenocarcinoma of the colon or rectum were randomly assigned to either FFG weekly for 6 weeks of an 8-week cycle or FOLFOX4 every 2 weeks. After FDA approval, bevacizumab 5 mg/kg was added every 2 weeks.
Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is the most common central venous anomaly in the thorax, which may remain asymptomatic throughout life. Indwelling catheters that are increasingly used in oncology practice may result in complications in the presence of PLSVC. The authors report an unusual case of recurrent ischemic attacks each time a portacath was accessed in a patient with breast cancer and PLSVC.
