Introduction: The pathogenesis of sarcoidosis involves tissue remodelling mediated by the accumulation of abnormal extracellular matrix, which is partly the result of an imbalance in collagen synthesis, cross-linking and degradation. The aim of the study is to analyze the effect of smoking and smoking cessation on the incidence of complications among orthopedic and hand surgery patients, and to determine the feasibility of smoking cessation intervention, as well as factors predicting success in smoking cessation. Background: Suppressing intrusive thoughts can result in a post-suppression rebound effect where the same thoughts become hyperaccessible. The current study aimed to investigate if similar so-called rebound effects could be observed when people attempted to mentally suppress awareness of nonsensical auditory stimuli.
