Objectives: The main objective of this study was to evaluate whether the implementation of CoBaTrICE (Competency-Based Training in Intensive Care Medicine in Europe) provides higher levels of competency in comparison with the current official time-based program in Intensive Care Medicine in Spain. Secondary objectives were: 1) To determine the percentage of critical essential performance elements (CEPE) accomplished, 2) To determine compliance with workplace-based assessments (wba).
Design: Multicenter cluster randomized trial.

The objective of the present manuscript was the evaluation of the toxicity and metabolism of the second generation of pyrovalerone cathinones (α-PHP, α-PHPiP, 4-MePPP and TH-PVP), using an early zebrafish (Danio rerio) larvae as in vivo model. Pyrovalerone cathinones LC were determined after 24, 48, 72 and 96 h of exposure. TH-PVP proved to be the most toxic cathinone, whereas 4-MePPP was the least toxic.

Escalation to BEACOPP has been shown to improve progression-free survival (PFS). However, randomized trials are lacking to determine the best strategy for intensification.

This Review addresses the emerging focus on metastatic CRC (mCRC), which has historically been under-studied compared with primary CRC despite its lethality. We delve into two crucial aspects: the molecular and cellular determinants facilitating CRC metastasis and the principles guiding the evolution of metastatic disease.

Several studies indicate that this insecticide has been detected in multiple rivers, with concentrations reaching as high as 99.59 ng/L in the Júcar River in Spain.

Acute toxicity tests (48 h), feeding behavior test (5 h) and chronic toxicity test (21 days) were carried out on a parental daphnid generation (F0). Pyriproxifen D.

Therapies to prevent disease relapse remain an unmet medical need. Here we uncover the identity and features of the residual tumour cells responsible for CRC relapse.

The main objective was to determine the level of competency (I novice to V independent practitioner) achieved by the residents at the end of the 3rd year of training (R3) in ICM through a simulation-based OSCE. Secondary objectives were: (1) To identify gaps in performance, and (2) To investigate the reliability and feasibility of conducting simulation-based assessment at multiple sites.

The expression of genes related to lipid metabolism (fabd), oxidative stress (cat and gst), heat shock proteins synthesis (hsp70 and hsp90), haemoglobin synthesis (hgb1 and hgb2), metallothioneins synthesis (mt-a, mt-b and mt-c), and vitellogenin synthesis (vgt1 y vgt2) were analyzed. Results showed that some gene expression in D.

The fungicide effects on reproduction, survival, individual size, and growth population rate were evaluated after an exposure of 21 days, and no changes were observed compared to the control group.

Patient-derived organoids expand from highly proliferative LGR5 tumor cells; however, we discovered that lack of optimal growth conditions specifies a latent LGR5 cell state.

Spain is one of the most badly affected countries worldwide, with high rates of patients diagnosed, hospitalized, and deceased due to COVID-19 infection. The present study aimed to analyze the possible relationship of ABO in COVID-19 patients hospitalized in different Spanish centers during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, for which the ABO group was available.

Here we describe a large-scale functional screen of dual-targeting bispecific antibodies (bAbs) on a heterogeneous colorectal cancer PDO biobank and paired healthy colonic mucosa samples. More than 500 therapeutic bAbs generated against Wingless-related integration site (WNT) and receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) targets were functionally evaluated by high-content imaging to capture the complexity of PDO responses.

Here we discuss the influence that TGFβ exerts on the composition and behaviour of different cell populations present in the tumour immune microenvironment, and the context-dependent functions of this cytokine in suppressing or promoting cancer. During homeostasis, TGFβ controls inflammatory responses triggered by exposure to the outside milieu in barrier tissues.

Here, we reveal a previously unappreciated heterogeneity in the biosynthetic capacities of CRC cells. We discover that the majority of ribosomal DNA transcription and protein synthesis in CRCs occurs in a limited subset of tumor cells that localize in defined niches.

To overcome the inconvenient of the high cost of the currently employed highly purified commercial enzymes, the use of scarcely purified extracts obtained from standard strains of the same species of commercial lipases currently applied in this process is being investigated.

To overcome this limitation, we devised a strategy based on editing the genomes of patient-derived tumor organoids using CRISPR/Cas9 technology to integrate reporter cassettes at desired marker genes. As proof of concept, we engineered human colorectal cancer (CRC) organoids that carry EGFP and lineage-tracing cassettes knocked in the LGR5 locus.
