Toxoplasmic maculopathy with bacillary layer detachment in a pediatric patient.

We report the case of a 14-year-old girl with ocular toxoplasmosis presenting with severe panuveitis with anterior segment involvement, moderate vitreous haze, focal retinochoroiditis, extensive retinal periphlebitis, and macular bacillary layer detachment. Toxoplasmosis treatment was complicated by Stevens-Johnson syndrome, which developed 8 days after starting trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole.

Long-Term Consequences of COVID-19 Lockdown in Neovascular AMD Patients in Spain: Structural and Functional Outcomes after 1 Year of Standard Follow-Up and Treatment.

Consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical care have been extensively analyzed. Specifically, in ophthalmology practice, patients suffering age-related macular degeneration (AMD) represent one of the most affected subgroups. After reporting the acute consequences of treatment suspension in neovascular AMD, we have now evaluated these same 242 patients (270 eyes) to assess if prior functional and anatomical situations can be restored after twelve months of regular follow-up and treatment.

Ocular manifestations of SARS-CoV-2: Literature review.

In this review, a summary is presented of the main reports regarding the potential ocular manifestations of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Scientific evidence is based on letters to the editor, clinical cases and case series, cross-sectional, and a few longitudinal studies. To date, it includes viral conjunctivitis, immune conjunctivitis, and oculomotor palsies (OCP) due to the novel coronavirus.
