Background: Pulmonary vein isolation with wide antral ablation leads to better clinical outcomes for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, but the isolation lesion is invisible in conventional cryoballoon ablation. In this study, we aim to investigate the efficacy of the wide pulmonary vein isolation technique that includes the intervenous carina region, guided by high-density mapping, compared with pulmonary vein isolation alone without the mapping system.

Methods: We conducted a propensity score-matched comparison of 74 patients who underwent a wide cryoballoon ablation guided by high-density mapping (mapping group) and 74 controls who underwent conventional cryoballoon ablation in the same period (no-mapping group).

Background: Bachmann's bundle (BB) is the main pathway of interatrial connection that could be involved in the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). Based on this hypothesis, we raised a novel ablation strategy, BB modification in addition to circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (CPVI-BB) in patients with AF.

Introduction: Optimal anticoagulants for patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are unclear. This retrospective observational study is aimed at evaluating efficacy and safety of bivalirudin versus unfractionated heparin (UFH) monotherapy in patients with DM undergoing PCI.

Methods: A total of 3890 diabetic patients receiving PCI in the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command were divided into the bivalirudin group ( = 869) and the UFH group ( = 3021) according to different anticoagulant therapy regimens.

This study evaluated clinical outcomes of switching from clopidogrel to ticagrelor in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The clinical benefit of in-hospital switching from clopidogrel to ticagrelor in these patients remains unclear. Methods: Based on an all-comers PCI registry, we compared the long-term effectiveness and safety between ticagrelor and clopidogrel in ACS patients undergoing complex PCI, defined as PCI procedures for complex lesions including bifurcation, chronic total occlusion, ostial, tortuous, calcific, diffused, thrombus-containing, and restenotic lesions.

A study on room temperature Suzuki cross-coupling in an aqueous medium was carried out using a simple hydrophilic palladium (II) complex, trans-PdCl2(NH2CH2COOH)2 as catalyst in the presence of K2CO3 in air. This approach with a comparatively inexpensive and hydrophilic catalyst, mild reaction condition and aqueous media exhibits excellent catalytic activity towards the Suzuki coupling of aryl bromides and arylboronic acids, and good yields were obtained in the Suzuki coupling of activated aryl chlorides.
