Objectives: This study aimed to identify the prevalence of clinically significant depression among adult Omani patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and explore potential associations with sociodemographic and clinical variables in this population.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between August 2018 and September 2019 and included 427 Omani T2DM patients from 12 randomly selected government health centres in Muscat, Oman. An Arabic version of the validated Patient Health Questionnaire-9 was administered to the participants via face-to-face interviews to determine the prevalence of depression.
