Objectives: The long-term impact of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) on respiratory function in patients with inoperable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has not been well studied. The aim of this phase II trial was to assess local control, survival, and lung function at 36 months after treatment.

Methods: From July 2008 to February 2012, 42 patients in whom inoperable NSCLC with peripheral lesions was diagnosed were consecutively enrolled.

Background: We analyzed variations in surgical site infections (SSIs) during 5 years of a prospective surveillance program and investigated possible contributors to SSIs in a cohort of patients who underwent surgery for breast cancer.

Methods: All breast surgeries performed between January 2001 and December 2005 were registered. Patients were followed-up by direct observation for at least 30 days under standardized conditions.
