Paediatric fruit and vegetable prescription programmes hold promise in improving food security and dietary patterns among youth. However, programme success is largely dependent upon caregiver and family engagement. The current study sought to gain a better understanding of environmental barriers to engagement in a paediatric fruit and vegetable prescription programme in one low-income, urban community (Flint, Michigan, USA).

Factors associated with never treatment and acceptability of mass drug administration for the elimination of lymphatic filariasis in Guyana, 2021.

Guyana remains one of four countries in the Americas endemic for lymphatic filariasis (LF). Elimination of LF requires repeated annual mass drug administration (MDA) with sufficient levels of coverage for success. This study assesses the acceptability and never treatment of LF MDA using data from a routine assessment survey in 2021.

Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of using AI-enabled technology in sleep medicine: a commentary.

Unlabelled: Over the past few years, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful tool used to efficiently automate several tasks across multiple domains. Sleep medicine is perfectly positioned to leverage this tool due to the wealth of physiological signals obtained through sleep studies or sleep tracking devices and abundance of accessible clinical data through electronic medical records. However, caution must be applied when utilizing AI, due to intrinsic challenges associated with novel technology.

Quantifying Phase-Amplitude Modulation in Neural Data.

Phase-amplitude modulation (the modulation of the amplitude of higher frequency oscillations by the phase of lower frequency oscillations) is a specific type of cross-frequency coupling that has been observed in neural recordings from multiple species in a range of behavioral contexts. Given its potential importance, care must be taken with how it is measured and quantified. Previous studies have quantified phase-amplitude modulation by measuring the distance of the amplitude distribution from a uniform distribution.

Experiences and intentions of patients undergoing medically indicated oocyte or embryo cryopreservation: a qualitative study.

Study Question: What structural (logistical) and psychological challenges do patients who cryopreserve oocytes or embryos for medical reasons face, including possible barriers to using their frozen materials?

Summary Answer: The majority of women who underwent oocyte or embryo cryopreservation for medical reasons reported a desire to use their frozen oocytes or embryos but had been impeded by ongoing medical issues, the need for a gestational carrier, or the lack of a partner.

What Is Known Already: Current data suggest that many women who have frozen oocytes or embryos for medical indications are concerned about the prospect of infertility and have unique emotional and financial needs that differ from patients with infertility. Further, most patients have not returned to use their cryopreserved materials.

Modernizing the design and analysis of prevalence surveys for neglected tropical diseases.

Current WHO guidelines set prevalence thresholds below which a neglected tropical disease can be considered to have been eliminated as a public health problem, and specify how surveys to assess whether elimination has been achieved should be designed and analysed, based on classical survey sampling methods. In this paper, we describe an alternative approach based on geospatial statistical modelling. We first show the gains in efficiency that can be obtained by exploiting any spatial correlation in the underlying prevalence.

Assessing Medical Students' Attitudes and Knowledge Regarding LGBTQ Health Needs Across the United States.

Background: The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community experiences health disparities. It is thus imperative that medical trainees receive training in the care of LGBTQ community. The objective of this study was to identify gaps in knowledge and comfort among medical school students in providing care for the LGBTQ community.

Leaving a Legacy: Allied Health Professionals' Perceptions of Fertility Preservation and Posthumous Reproduction for Adolescent and Young Adults with a Poor Cancer Prognosis.

To explore Allied Health Professionals' (AHPs) experiences with and perceptions of posthumous assisted reproduction (PAR) among adolescent and young adults (AYA, ages 15-39) with a poor cancer prognosis. We conducted a qualitative analysis of video-based 90-minute focus groups (FGs) of AHPs who participated in the Enriching Communication Skills for Health Professionals in Oncofertility (ECHO) training program from May to August 2021. Moderator-facilitated discussions were guided by topics related to experiences around discussions and utilization of PAR among AYA with a poor cancer prognosis.

Propofol disrupts alpha dynamics in functionally distinct thalamocortical networks during loss of consciousness.

During propofol-induced general anesthesia, alpha rhythms measured using electroencephalography undergo a striking shift from posterior to anterior, termed anteriorization, where the ubiquitous waking alpha is lost and a frontal alpha emerges. The functional significance of alpha anteriorization and the precise brain regions contributing to the phenomenon are a mystery. While posterior alpha is thought to be generated by thalamocortical circuits connecting nuclei of the sensory thalamus with their cortical partners, the thalamic origins of the propofol-induced alpha remain poorly understood.

For the LOvE of Reproductive Health Communication: Assessment of the LGBT Oncofertility Education (LOvE) Module.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Oncofertility Education (LOvE) module aims to improve knowledge on providing inclusive and affirming care for LGBTQ adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer. The objective of this study is to evaluate the role of the module in improving reproductive health communication for the care of LGBTQ AYAs with cancer. A 10-item multiple-choice pre-test and post-test assessed learner knowledge, with total knowledge scores ranging from 0 (no correct responses) to 10 (all correct responses).

Background: While all reproductive-aged individuals with cancer should be offered fertility preservation (FP) counseling, there is little guidance over offers to adolescent and young adults (AYA) with terminal diagnoses, especially when considering posthumous assisted reproduction (PAR). The Enriching Communication skills for Health professionals in Oncofertility (ECHO/ENRICH) trains Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to improve communication with AYAs with cancer. Little is known about AHPs' role in assisting in FP and PAR decisions.

Decomposing Executive Function into Distinct Processes Underlying Human Decision Making.

Executive function (EF) consists of higher level cognitive processes including working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibition which together enable goal-directed behaviors. Many neurological disorders are associated with EF dysfunctions which can lead to suboptimal behavior. To assess the roles of these processes, we introduce a novel behavioral task and modeling approach.

Ancient mitochondrial diversity reveals population homogeneity in Neolithic Greece and identifies population dynamics along the Danubian expansion axis.

The aim of the study is to investigate mitochondrial diversity in Neolithic Greece and its relation to hunter-gatherers and farmers who populated the Danubian Neolithic expansion axis. We sequenced 42 mitochondrial palaeogenomes from Greece and analysed them together with European set of 328 mtDNA sequences dating from the Early to the Final Neolithic and 319 modern sequences. To test for population continuity through time in Greece, we use an original structured population continuity test that simulates DNA from different periods by explicitly considering the spatial and temporal dynamics of populations.

Assessment of orthodontic borderline treatment need: A comparison of two aesthetic indices.

Objective: To compare a new "guide for borderline orthodontic need" (GBON) with the "aesthetic component" (AC) of the IOTN in assessing borderline cases (dental health component DHC 3), and to compare reliability and opinions of orthodontists on the use of each index.

Materials And Methods: Cross-sectional population descriptive study. Ninety-four qualified orthodontists assessed 30 borderline malocclusions according to the GBON and AC indices and completed a questionnaire.

"No one size fits all" A Multi-Method Survey of Oncology Allied Health Professionals Experiences with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/Queer Questioning Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients with Cancer and Reproductive and Sexual Health".

To assess training needs for providers who care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/queer questioning (LGBTQ) cancer patients, we conducted a mixed-method survey. During their cancer care experience, AYA cancer patients experience physical, psychosocial, and reproductive health challenges. In addition to these challenges, AYA LGBTQ individuals are a diverse and medically underserved population who experience unique challenges and disparities in medical care.

The LOvE ECHO Training: Developing a Web-Based LGBTQ Cultural Competency Training Module for Oncology Allied Health Professionals.

This article describes the development of the LGBTQ Oncofertility Education (LOvE-ECHO). The Enriching Communication skills for Health professionals in Oncofertility (ECHO) team created this new education module in response to the needs of oncology allied health professionals to provide inclusive and affirming care to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) AYA patients with cancer. The new module is part of the ECHO, a web-based educational training program for oncology allied health professionals to improve communication with AYA about reproductive health.

The development of a guide to borderline orthodontic need.

Objective: To produce a guide for dentists and orthodontists to determine orthodontic treatment need in borderline cases (dental health component DHC 3) and to compare views of different panels of judges on treatment need.

Materials And Methods: Prospective, observational study. Photographs of one hundred subjects displaying borderline occlusal traits (DHC3) were collected.
