The role of cytological analysis of nasal mucosa in seasonal and perennial rhinitis was addressed. The study was carried out in 55 subjects (25 females, 30 males) with seasonal allergic rhinitis and 44 patients (28 females, 16 males) with perennial allergic rhinitis. The cytological examination was carried out during the acute phase of the disease and depend on performing a differential count of epithelial and inflammatory effector cells.

A case of Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) with involvement of the upper and lower respiratory tract and kidneys is presented. Despite specific symptoms the diagnosis was changed several times. Final diagnosis was made with immunofluorescence test for antineutrophil-cytoplasm antibodies (IF-ANCA).

The study on the morphine and naloxone influence on the blastic transformation of lymphocytes were made in vitro. The material was taken from the laryngeal cancer and leukoplakia patients. Morphine lowered the threshold of the blastic transformation especially in laryngeal cancer patients.

The effects of serum collected from 20 workers involved directly in manufacturing processes upon lymphocytes blastic transformation in healthy subjects have been tested. The controls included: spontaneous blastic transformation of lymphocytes found in healthy subjects (15) and lymphocytes blastic transformation in healthy subjects in the presence of serum from other healthy subjects (13). The tests have demonstrated that the serum of the Motor Car Factory workers statistically significantly stimulated lymphocytes blastic transformation, unlike the serum of healthy subjects.
