Aims And Objective: Most research on fistula-in-ano (FIA) is being done to improve surgical outcomes and reduce complications. Cyanoacrylate glue (CAG) is one of the promising options. We evaluated the efficacy and efficiency of CAG in the treatment of FIA.

Rhinocerebral Mucormycosis: Report of a Rare Case.

Background: Mucormycosis is one of the rapidly progressing and lethal form of fungal infection which involves the nose and paranasal sinuses of the head and the neck regions. Mucormycosis also remains a threat to patients with uncontrolled diabetes or other predisposing systemic conditions. It manifests as rhinocerebral, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, cutaneous or disseminated form.

Background: Consumer Protection Act (CPA) aims to protect the interests of the patients in case of any unethical treatment rendered by a medical or a dental health professional. The present study was conducted to assess knowledge and awareness of CPA among dental professionals in a Tricity in India.

Periodontal health status of transport workers of a union territory in India: A cross-sectional study.

Background: Periodontal disease is one of the most prevalent dental diseases, which affects the adult population of the world, varying only in degree from mild to severe. Transport industry is considered an important pillar for socioeconomic development of any nation. The present study was carried out to assess the periodontal health status of transport workers working in Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) buses, Chandigarh (Union territory).

A curious case of foreign body induced jejunal obstruction and perforation.

Introduction: Accidental and unnoticed ingestion of foreign bodies are not very uncommon. Most of such foreign bodies pass through gastrointestinal tract uneventfully and only on rare instances cause obstruction and/or perforation.

Presentation Of Case: We are reporting a case in which a 45 yr old male presented to accident and emergency department of our institute with complaints of pain abdomen, greenish vomiting, abdominal distension, fever and non passage of flatus and stool following alcoholic binge 15 days back.

Hyaluronic acid: a promising mediator for periodontal regeneration.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural-non sulphated high molecular weight glycosaminoglycan that forms a critical component of the extracellular matrix and contributes significantly to tissue hydrodynamics, cell migration and proliferation. The use of HA in the treatment of inflammatory process is established in medical areas such as orthopedics, dermatology and ophthalmology. In the field of dentistry, hyaluronate has shown anti-inflammatory, antiedematous and anti-bacterial effects for the treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis.

A relaxed implant bed: implants placed after two weeks of osteotomy with immediate loading: a one year clinical trial.

A waiting period of 2 weeks after osteotomy increases the surrounding tissue activity to its maximum level as collagen formation and neoangiogenesis represent a relaxed and acceptable implant bed configuration. The aim of the present study was a clinical and radiologic evaluation of early osteotomy with implant placement delayed for 2 weeks with immediate loading in the anterior and premolar region with minimally invasive approach. Seven GS II implants (Osstem) were placed in 6 patients.
