- Laparoscopic surgery, while minimally invasive, can lead to significant postoperative pain, which this study addressed by comparing two techniques for administering bupivacaine for pain relief.
- The study involved 60 adult female patients who were split into two groups: one receiving a bilateral rectus sheath block (BRSB) and the other receiving bupivacaine intraperitoneally, with pain levels measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) at multiple time intervals.
- Results showed that those who received BRSB experienced significantly lower pain scores compared to the intraperitoneal administration group at all measured times, indicating BRSB may be a more effective method for postoperative pain management.

Endometriosis is a common gynaecological condition affecting 10-12% of general female population. It has variable clinical presentation commonly causing infertility, chronic pelvic pain, and dysmenorrhea. Rare presentation could be a tender cervical/rectal mass therefore should be considered in women of reproductive age group.
