Healthcare worker perceptions surrounding transmission and prevention practices in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Objective: To understand healthcare worker (HCW) perceptions surrounding transmission and prevention in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Design: Qualitative case study with focus groups.

Setting: A level IV, 150-bed NICU at a Midwestern academic medical center that conducts active surveillance and decolonization of positive patients.
