An update on the current characteristics and status of care for Muslims with type 2 diabetes fasting during Ramadan: the DAR global survey 2022.

Background: Managing diabetes during Ramadan fasting is a challenge due lifestyle changes. We described the characteristics and patterns of care for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) during Ramadan 2020 and 2022.

Methods: Our study included multinational Muslims with T2DM who were during routine consultation.

Pancreatic and islet cell transplantation are considered surgical therapeutic modalities for type 1 diabetes mellitus with or without end-stage renal disease. The pancreatic transplant can be performed alone or with the kidney transplant simultaneously or at different times. It contributed to an improved quality of life in those patients.

The classic celiac disease (CD) presentation in individuals with iron deficiency anemia (IDA) has been changed given the large percentage of subtle or asymptomatic cases. The study objective was to assess the predictive factors influencing the diagnosis and severity of villous atrophy in individuals with CD and IDA referred for a diagnostic endoscopy. This was a retrospective observational, cross-sectional analysis of the medical records of 499 individuals with IDA in 2 centers in Basrah, Iraq, who referred for possible diagnosis of CD within 10 years (2006-2016).
