Article Synopsis
  • The study compared the effectiveness of retrograde ureteral stent (RUS) and percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) in treating patients with acute obstructive pyelonephritis.
  • While both procedures had similar success rates, PCN had significantly shorter operation and fluoroscopy times compared to RUS.
  • Additionally, PCN resulted in fewer complications and a reduced need for intensive care post-surgery, suggesting it may be the more advantageous option for emergency urinary drainage.
