Background: The diagnostic accuracy of suspicious lesions that are classified as PI-RADS 3 in multiparametric prostate magnetic-resonance imaging (mpMRI) is controversial. This study aims to assess the predictive capacity of hematological inflammatory markers such as neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV), and systemic immune-response index (SIRI) in detecting prostate cancer in PI-RADS 3 lesions.

Methods: 276 patients who underwent mpMRI and subsequent prostate biopsy after PI-RADS 3 lesion detection were included in the study.

Purpose: To assess the predictive capability of hematological inflammatory markers for urethral stricture recurrence after primary urethroplasty and to compare traditional statistical methods with a machine-learning-based artificial intelligence algorithm.

Materials And Methods: Two hundred eighty-seven patients who underwent primary urethroplasty were scanned. Ages, smoking status, comorbidities, hematological inflammatory parameters (neutrophil-lymphocyte ratios, platelet-lymphocyte ratios [PLR], systemic immune-inflammation indexes [SII], and pan-immune-inflammation values [PIV]), stricture characteristics, history of previous direct-visual internal urethrotomy, urethroplasty techniques, and grafts/flaps placements were collected.

Background: Testosterone plays a vital role in maintaining tissue homeostasis, and testosterone deficiency may potentially influence the likelihood of urethral stricture recurrence.

Objectives: To evaluate the prognostic value of testosterone levels in the recurrence after direct visual internal urethrotomy in primary short segment bulbar urethral strictures and its clinical reflections.

Materials And Methods: A total of 723 patients who underwent direct vision internal urethrotomy between January 2000 and October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.

Metal halide ammines are promising ammonia storage materials due to their high ammonia densities and suitable decomposition properties. Here, we studied the polymorphism of ammines with a general formula of Sr(NH)Cl ( = 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8) by combining the Fast and Flexible CrystAl Structure Predictor (FFCASP) with density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Furthermore, the lattice stability and the minimum energy paths for bulk and surface diffusion of NH were investigated by performing phonon and nudged elastic band (NEB) calculations.

A new algorithm called Fast and Flexible CrystAl Structure Predictor (FFCASP) was developed to predict the structure of covalent and molecular crystals. FFCASP is massively parallel and able to handle more than 200 atoms in the unit cell (in other terms, it allows global optimization around 100 individual parameters). It uses a global optimizer specialized for Crystal Structure Prediction (CSP) which combines particle swarm and simulated annealing optimizers.

It has been revealed in recent studies that Hypericum Perforatum (HP) is influential on cancer, inflammatory diseases, bacterial and viral diseases, and has neuroprotective and antioxidant properties. In this study, we investigated the effect of HP, which is known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, on kidney I/R damage. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups, and each of the groups had eight rats: The Control Group; the Ischemia/Reperfusion (I/R) Group; and the IR + HP Group which was treated with 50 mg/kg of HP.
