Cost-effectiveness analysis of microwave ablation versus robot-assisted partial nephrectomy for patients with small renal masses in Australia.

Objectives: Microwave ablation (MWA) has gained attention as a minimally invasive and safe alternative to surgical intervention for patients with small renal masses; however, its cost-effectiveness in Australia remains unclear. This study conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis to evaluate the relative clinical and economic merits of MWA compared to robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RA-PN) in the treatment of small renal masses.

Methods: A Markov state-transition model was constructed to simulate the progression of Australian patients with small renal masses treated with MWA versus RA-PN over a 10-year horizon.

Surgical Outcome of Pharmaco Refractory Epilepsy in the National Epilepsy Center of Sri Lanka.

Robust scientific evidence obtained by a meta-analysis would provide objectively summarized data while enabling the assessment of consistency of findings. Occupational health issues in small-scale industries in Sri Lanka: An underreported burden.

Background: Work-related diseases and occupational accidents affect a significant number of workers globally. The majority of these diseases and accidents are reported from developing countries; and a large percentage of the workforce in developing countries is estimated to be employed in small-scale industries. Reliability of Parameters of Complete Blood Count With Different Storage Conditions.

Introduction: The complete blood count (CBC) is a frequently performed laboratory test today. This study evaluated the effects of temperature and sample storage time on parameters of CBC which could produce misleading results of clinical significance.

Methods: In a cross-sectional study, CBC was checked in 102 randomly selected healthy individuals and baseline measurements were analyzed using the Sysmex XS 500i fully automated hematology analyzer.
