- The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of an ethanolic extract of Aloe vera compared to traditional disinfectants on acrylic resin specimens.
- A total of 42 acrylic samples were tested with three different disinfection methods: Corega tablets, Aloe vera extract, and a distilled water control group, after being contaminated with specific pathogens.
- Results indicated that both Aloe vera extract and the denture tablets significantly reduced viable colony counts, with no major difference in effectiveness between the two; however, Aloe vera was effective against the pathogens when the samples were immersed for three minutes.
