Evaluation of metastasis and 5-year survival in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients in Isfahan (2001-2015).

Background: Frequency analysis of metastasis in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) helps to partly anticipate the upcoming chance of metastasis in the patients following primary diagnosis. This study was conducted to determine the evaluation of metastasis and 5-year survival in OSCC.

Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective, descriptive study.

Detection of Candida albicans in oral squamous cell carcinoma by fluorescence staining technique.

Background: One of the probable etiologic risk factors of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is Candidal infection, especially by Candida albicans, whose role has not definitely been confirmed. Some have assigned a primary role to Candida, whereas others consider it as a transient inhabitant. The debate may be due to lack of an accurate and sensitive revealing technique.

Epithelial dysplasia in oral cavity.

Among oral lesions, we encounter a series of malignant epithelial lesions that go through clinical and histopathologic processes in order to be diagnosed. Identifying these processes along with the etiology knowledge of these lesions is very important in prevention and early treatments. Dysplasia is the step preceding the formation of squamous cell carcinoma in lesions which have the potential to undergo dysplasia.
